Christiana Idowu, a third-year student at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, was murdered in August 2024.
Christiana was abducted on the Ikorodu-Yaba road while on her way to the University of Lagos, where she was completing her industrial training. She had left her home in Ita-Oluwo, Ikorodu, but never reached her destination.
Through coordinated security efforts, investigators tracked Christiana’s phone to Adeleye’s home in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State where Adeleye subsequently confessed to killing Idowu and revealed he had buried her body at his residence.
Her family’s home has been filled with mourners since the incident, as the community grieves her loss.

Adeleye and Idowu were acquaintances, both attending school in Ogun State, going to the same church, and residing in the Ita-Oluwo community.
Adeleye’s confession to the 174 Battalion of the Nigerian Army concluded a two-week search for Idowu.
