The 2024 Miss Universe Competition is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 16, in Mexico City, but drama has already unfolded ahead of the event.
Miss Panama, Italy Mora, has been disqualified for violating the pageant’s rules. The organization did not disclose specifics but stated that after a thorough review, the decision was made by the disciplinary commission.
Mora, who is 19 years old, believes her disqualification stems from an unauthorized visit to her boyfriend’s hotel room, which she claims was against the rules. Another theory circulating involves a makeup scandal, with leaked audio suggesting that the director of Miss Panama, César Anel Rodríguez, may have been secretly helping Mora with her makeup, which would also have violated the competition’s guidelines.
Mora, however, maintains that she was simply in her room with her boyfriend and denies any rule-breaking. She acknowledged that the pageant followed its regulations and accepted the consequences.
As a result, Miss Panama will not participate in the 2024 Miss Universe competition. The show will proceed without her, and the speculation about the incident continues.
