On the opening track of his surprise new album GNX (“Wacced Out Murals”), Kendrick Lamar addresses Snoop Dogg for previously sharing “Taylor Made,” a Drake diss track aimed at Kendrick that uses AI to imitate the voices of Snoop and Tupac. In response, Snoop acknowledged the mention, tweeting that he “blamed it on the edibles” and praised Kendrick as the “west west king.”
Snoop is also preparing to release Missionary, his first album since 1993’s Doggystyle to be entirely produced by Dr. Dre, who has been a long-time mentor to Kendrick.
In the same verse, Kendrick also calls out Lil Wayne. Wayne has since reacted, saying, “What did I do?! I just keep to myself, but they still target me. Don’t mistake kindness for weakness. Leave this giant undisturbed. I warn you all. Destruction isn’t my aim, but I won’t hold back if provoked. On me. Love.”
Nas also responded to a line in the song where Kendrick raps, “Won the Super Bowl and Nas was the only one to congratulate me,” with Nas expressing his admiration for Kendrick, saying, “Always inspired by my brother KL. Keeping the essence of this alive and at the forefront. Salute King!”
