The megachurch leader addressed his congregation, The Potter’s House, via video call on Sunday, receiving a standing ovation. Jakes expressed gratitude for God’s grace and mercy, emphasizing that his survival was a miracle.
He explained that he had been rushed to the ICU after the incident onstage last Sunday, where he needed surgery, though he did not reveal the specifics of the issue.
While Jakes is gradually returning to his normal routine, his doctor has advised him to take things slowly. He also reminded his followers that those who care for others must remember to care for themselves, sharing that he’s a living example of that principle. Last Sunday, during his address, Jakes had suddenly stopped speaking and began convulsing onstage. Initially, The Potter’s House downplayed the incident, calling it a minor medical issue, but it appears to have been more serious than initially reported. Jakes is now recovering and is grateful for God’s assistance throughout his journey.
