Jimmy Kimmel shared his thoughts on the recent criminal making headlines, Luigi Mangione, the 26-year-old suspected of murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
On Jimmy Kimmel Live (Dec. 10), Kimmel humorously remarked that while opinions on the case vary, it’s hard to ignore that the suspect’s name, “Luigi Mangione,” is unexpectedly amusing.
He also noted that as Mangione’s trial progresses, his name will likely remain in the spotlight, which could divert some media attention away from other figures, like Sean “Diddy” Combs, who has been under intense scrutiny.
Kimmel joked, “Diddy is like, ‘Thank god, someone else please,'” referring to Diddy’s ongoing legal issues, including his arrest in September on racketeering and sex trafficking charges, following serious accusations from his ex-partner, Cassie Ventura.
Kimmel added humor by commenting on Mangione’s arrest after he appeared “suspicious” at a McDonald’s. He also highlighted some of Mangione’s social media activity, including his review of the Unabomber’s manifesto and Steve-O’s autobiography, joking that if Steve-O had written a better book, Mangione might have just hit Thompson with a T-ball bat instead of committing murder.
