On Sunday, December 22, Mariah Carey and Anderson .Paak were spotted holding hands while heading to dinner in Aspen, Colorado. The two singers, seen smiling in photos, arrived at Catch Steak, where .Paak, 38, opened the door for Carey, 55, and placed his arm around her waist.
Despite the affectionate display, a source clarified to a news outlet that the pair is not romantically involved and are collaborating on new music.
This sighting comes after significant changes in both stars’ personal lives. .Paak recently ended his 13-year marriage to Jaylyn Chang, filing for divorce in January. Meanwhile, Carey sparked dating speculation for the first time since her seven-year relationship with Bryan Tanaka ended in late 2023. Tanaka, 41, announced their “amicable separation” on December 26, expressing mutual respect and gratitude for their time together, as well as his admiration for Carey’s dedication to her family, including her 13-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, whom she shares with ex-husband Nick Cannon.
Cannon, 44, has previously admitted he’d be open to rekindling his relationship with Carey but acknowledged that his insecurities during their marriage contributed to its downfall. He reflected on struggling to find his identity as Carey’s husband and feeling overshadowed by her immense success.
Photos of Carey and .Paak’s Aspen outing has since fueled public curiosity.
