After Kanye West and Bianca Censori left the Grammys this past Sunday, rumors spread that they were asked to leave due to Censori’s revealing outfit. However, it turns out that no one at the ceremony asked them to leave. They simply chose to exit after briefly appearing on the red carpet.
Despite being nominated for Best Rap Song, West did not have a seat for the televised part of the show.
Grammys executive producer Raj Kapoor clarified that the couple was not asked to leave but left voluntarily after their red carpet appearance. He confirmed that West wasn’t invited to the televised ceremony, as he had no role in the show and was not performing or presenting. The couple did not have a reserved seat in the VIP section, which is strictly organized by the producer.
Censori’s outfit sparked widespread criticism, but West defended her on social media, calling her smart, talented, brave, and beautiful. He dismissed criticism of her appearance, stating that people didn’t know his mother and didn’t understand their choices.
Although West didn’t win at this year’s Grammys, he has already won 24 Grammys in total, making him one of the most awarded artists in the ceremony’s history. This year’s nomination marked his 76th.
