While her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, walked off the field as a champion last year, this time, his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, suffered a blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. To make matters worse, when Taylor appeared on the jumbotron at Caesar’s Superdome in New Orleans, some fans booed her.
Taylor attended the game with friends – Ice Spice and Ashley Avignone, and despite noticing the boos, she seemed unfazed and even laughed it off.
She was seated with Ed and Donna Kelce, along with the three Haim sisters, in their VIP suite.
The boos were likely fueled by the fact that the stadium was packed with more Eagles fans than Chiefs supporters. Since Taylor is closely associated with Kansas City due to her relationship with Travis, the Eagles fans likely wanted to make their feelings known.
The game also attracted plenty of other celebrities, such as Bradley Cooper and Jon Hamm, who introduced the Eagles and Chiefs, respectively. Paul Rudd, a Chiefs fan, was there, along with Anne Hathaway, who sported Eagles green.
For Travis, the loss casts doubt on his future with the Chiefs. As he nears the end of his career, many had speculated that a victory could prompt him to retire, but now, he may return for at least one more season to attempt another championship. While there was speculation that he might propose to Taylor on the field if they won, that moment didn’t come to fruition due to the Chiefs’ crushing defeat.
Ultimately, Taylor’s boos are a minor part of a much bigger sports story, and while Chiefs fans are dealing with their team’s loss, most will likely forget about the brief moment of negativity directed at the pop star.
