Efforts to secure Wendy Williams’ release from the senior care facility where she has been staying are intensifying.
On Monday, Williams was taken to a local hospital for a mental evaluation by an independent physician, unaffiliated with the facility. On Monday, NYPD conducted a welfare check at the facility after Williams allegedly threw a note out of a window pleading for help. She was then transported by ambulance to a hospital for an evaluation. Last month, Morrissey had agreed to another assessment but insisted it be conducted by a facility-affiliated doctor, which Wendy opposed. This latest evaluation was also part of an Adult Protective Services (APS) case filed the previous week.
At the hospital, Williams reportedly passed the evaluation successfully, marking another step toward her potential release. She had previously hired two attorneys to fight her guardianship but dismissed one for failing to file the necessary paperwork. Her current attorney is now pushing for her transfer to a safer environment rather than returning her to the senior facility, arguing that it is “unsafe.”
Williams’ refusal to leave the hospital on Monday night further fueled the legal battle. Morrissey insisted on her immediate return, but hospital staff allowed her to stay overnight. An insider revealed that Morrissey allegedly attempted to interfere with Williams’ evaluation, though details remain unclear.
