O.J. Simpson’s Bible, inscribed by Robert Kardashian Sr., has been sold at auction. Despite Kim Kardashian’s attempt to purchase the book for $15,000, the auction proceeded as planned. The Bible ultimately sold on March 29 for $65,800—rising to $80,276 with the buyer’s premium—according to Goldin Auctions. A total of 49 bids were placed, with 14 coming in on the final day.
Malcolm LaVergne, executor of Simpson’s estate, confirmed that the identity of the winning bidder remains unknown. LaVergne, who is selling Simpson’s assets to settle outstanding debts, previously explained to PEOPLE that Kim’s offer wasn’t viable since the item was already committed to auction. He noted that if she had offered $150,000, they could have sought court approval for a direct sale.
The Bible was part of Goldin’s O.J. Simpson Collection, which also included clothing, trophies, and a golf club set. Inscribed by Kardashian on June 18, 1994—the day after Simpson’s arrest for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman—the message encouraged Simpson to find guidance in faith. Robert Kardashian, who served as part of Simpson’s defense team, passed away in 2003 from esophageal cancer. Simpson died in April 2024 from prostate cancer.
Kim, who has pursued a legal career and passed the baby bar exam in 2021, previously shared in her 2020 documentary Kim Kardashian West: The Justice Project how her work in law helped her feel connected to her late father, expressing that he would have been proud of her efforts.
