Kim Kardashian will finally see justice in her robbery case, as 10 individuals go on trial today, accused of robbing her at gunpoint in France nearly nine years ago.
Kim is expected to travel to Paris and testify on May 13th. She has previously shared in harrowing detail how the robbers broke into her hotel suite, tied her up, and threatened her at gunpoint while stealing $10 million worth of jewelry. She was placed in a bathtub during the heist and feared for her life, thinking she might be assaulted.
One of the suspects, Yunice Abbas, has even written a book about the robbery. He recounts how, after the heist, he returned home to rest, but his wife had already seen the news and confronted him, recognizing him as the culprit.
Abbas and his nine accomplices, known as the “Grandpa Robbers” due to their ages ranging from 60 to 80, are accused of posing as police officers to break into Kim’s luxury apartment in October 2016.
The suspects were arrested months later, with five directly involved in the robbery and charged with armed robbery and kidnapping. Others face accessory charges.
The trial in Paris is set to last about three weeks, with Kim Kardashian expected to be the key witness.
Abbas and another accomplice, Aomar Ait Khedache, have confessed to their involvement, though one suspect has recently passed away and another may be unable to stand trial due to advanced dementia.
