Safina Namukwaya, aged 70, has made history in Africa by becoming the oldest woman to give birth, thanks to IVF treatment at Uganda’s Women’s Hospital International and Fertility Centre.
The hospital proudly announced the arrival of twins, a boy, and a girl, delivered by cesarean section in Kampala.
The event was celebrated as a “historic event,” with Namukwaya expressing gratitude for what she described as a “miracle.”
This accomplishment follows a similar case in 2019 when a 73-year-old Indian woman gave birth to twin girls through IVF treatment.
