Nigel Lythgoe is stepping down from his role as a judge on “So You Think You Can Dance” amid multiple sexual assault allegations.
In a statement, he expressed his voluntary decision, emphasizing the show’s focus on dance and dancers.
The upcoming season will proceed without him, with no replacement decision announced yet.
Lythgoe faces legal challenges, including a lawsuit from Paula Abdul and allegations from contestants on a 2003 reality show he produced.
His departure precedes the 18th season of “SYTYCD,” where he won’t be credited as the executive producer.
