President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of the Chairman and members of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), subject to confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.
The appointments are in accordance with Section 154 of the Nigerian Constitution (1999, Amended), which empowers the president to appoint the Chairman and members of the FCSC.
The appointees include Prof. Tunji Olaopa as Chairman and members like Dr. Daudu Ibrahim Jalo, Ms. Gekpe Grace Isu, Dr. Chamberlain Nwele, Mr. Rufus Godwins, Dr. Adamu Hussein, Mr. Aminu Nabegu, Ms. Hindatu Abdullahi, Mr. Shehu Aliyu, Ms. Odekunle Rukiyat Aduke, Mr. Jide Jimoh, and Dr. Festus Oyebade, representing various states.
The new FCSC leadership is expected to assume their roles from November 30, 2023, following the expiration of the current Chairman and members’ tenure on November 29, 2023.
The President’s aim is for this new leadership to drive the transformation, reorientation, and digitization of the Federal Bureaucracy, fostering growth and private sector involvement in line with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
