Israeli officials announced on Friday that an agreement with Qatari negotiators has been reached to deliver medicine into Gaza for hostages held by Hamas.
The remaining hostages may receive the medicine in the next few days.
The conflict began on Oct. 7 when Hamas captured over 240 hostages, resulting in a counteroffensive by Israel, causing casualties.
Qatar and the U.S. facilitated a temporary cease-fire in November, leading to the release of some hostages in exchange for Palestinian detainees and humanitarian aid.
Families have requested the Red Cross’s intervention, but Hamas reportedly blocked access.
The U.S. is working on diplomatic solutions for Gaza’s reconstruction. Tensions persist as the U.S. urges Israel to scale back attacks.
