This annual ranking, unveiled on Tuesday, October 31, showcases the top 13 departed celebrities, assessing their pre-tax income derived from sales, streaming, licensing agreements, and various revenue streams between October 1, 2022, and September 30, 2023. The list also takes into account estate acquisitions that were made or announced during the same time frame.
According to Forbes, the combined earnings of these 13 posthumous figures, including musicians, authors, and other luminaries, added up to $470 million over the past year, marking a 70% decrease from the remarkable $1.6 billion amassed in 2022.
Michael Jackson’s triumphant return to the number one spot after a four-year hiatus signifies his estimated $115 million in earnings, closely trailed by his late father-in-law, Elvis Presley, securing the second position.
