The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have given a 14-day notice of a nationwide strike to the Federal Government.
This action is prompted by the government’s failure to implement the 16-point agreement with organized labor on October 2, 2023.
The leaders express concern over the government’s apparent indifference to the widespread suffering and hardship in the country, despite organized labor’s efforts to promote workplace harmony.
The NLC and TUC regret resorting to such measures but emphasize that persistent neglect leaves them with no choice.
They issue a stern ultimatum for the government to honor the agreement within 14 days from February 9, 2024.
