On December 6, 2022, Minnesota’s Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) launched the DVS Now vehicle registration kiosk program, offering drivers convenient alternatives to purchase vehicle tabs.
Initially installed at South St. Paul and Rochester Crossroad deputy registrar’s offices, the kiosks later relocated to Cub Foods stores in West St. Paul and Rochester.
The DVS Now program recently expanded to include kiosks at 8 Cub Foods locations as of Thursday, November 16.
These kiosks provide a quick and easy option for vehicle registration renewals. Customers can scan their renewal notice barcode or enter required information to update their registration.
To use the kiosk, you’ll need personal information, insurance details (provider name, policy number, expiration date), the last 3 digits of your VIN, and your license plate number. Ensure your address on the renewal notice is accurate.
At the kiosk:
1. Enter your license plate number and the last 3 digits of your VIN.
2. Pay taxes and fees using a credit or debit card.
3. The kiosk will instantly print registration tabs and documents upon successful renewal.
Keep in mind, in addition to listed fees, there’s a $4.95 convenience fee per vehicle renewal at the kiosk and a 2.49% credit card processing fee, similar to fees for in-person or online renewals.
As of November 16, DVS Now kiosks are available at the following Minnesota Cub Foods stores:
