Mexican actress Melissa Barrera has been removed from the cast of Scream VII by Spyglass Media Group due to posts related to the Israel-Hamas conflict, with the company citing zero tolerance for antisemitism.
Barrera’s social media posts were interpreted as antisemitic, including false references to genocide and ethnic cleansing.
She had played Sam Carpenter in the fifth Scream film and was set to lead in the next installment.
Barrera is reportedly no longer working with a publicist following her removal from the movie franchise.
