In a recent settlement with premium drink company Diageo, Diddy has relinquished ownership of Cîroc and DeLeón tequila.
As part of the resolution, Diddy withdrew all previous allegations and dismissed lawsuits against Diageo, citing prejudice.
A joint public statement noted the resolution of disputes, clarifying that there’s no ongoing business relationship between Diageo and Mr. Combs for Cîroc vodka or DeLeón tequila, which Diageo now solely owns.
In June 2023, Diageo PLC severed ties with Diddy following his lawsuit, alleging the company’s neglect of DeLeón tequila.
The Wall Street Journal reported claims of racial discrimination, with Diddy asserting that Diageo labeled DeLeón as “urban” and a “Black brand.”
Diageo countered these claims as baseless, stating Diddy had made unreasonable financial demands and failed to honor commitments despite their $100 million investment in growing DeLeón.
