Authorities in California’s San Bernardino County apprehended five suspects accused of killing six people last week in a narcotics-related dispute.
The arrests were disclosed during a press conference on Monday, almost a week after the victims’ bodies were discovered on January 23.
The victims had arranged to meet for a marijuana transaction, leading to the murders.
The suspects, identified as Toniel Baez-Duarte, Mateo Baez-Duarte, Jose Nicolas Hernandez-Sarabia, Jose Gregorio Hernandez-Sarabia, and Jose Manuel Burgos Parra, were arrested, and authorities seized firearms and evidence during the investigation.
The motive for the killings is believed to be linked to organized crime in an area known for illicit marijuana activities.
