A man armed with a knife and a hammer injured three people in an early-morning attack at the major Gare de Lyon train station in Paris on Saturday, raising security concerns ahead of the Summer Games in six months.
The attacker, subdued by a security guard, is now in police custody.
One person is in serious condition, while the others have lighter injuries.
Paris police chief Laurent Nunez stated that the incident doesn’t seem terror-related, suggesting mental health issues for the suspect.
The attack occurred as the city prepares for heightened security during the upcoming Olympic Games, set to open on July 26.
