A tragic incident unfolded as a grade ten learner reportedly took his own life after enduring persistent mockery by a teacher at Mbangazwe High School in KwaMakhutha, south of Durban.
The KwaZulu Natal Education Department is currently investigating the allegations surrounding the student’s ordeal, which began when his mother raised concerns about his previous year’s poor Math and Physics marks.
Despite rectifying the grading mix-up, the learner faced continuous torment from his class teacher, eventually leading to the heartbreaking decision to end his life.
The mother demands accountability and hopes the teacher responsible never teaches again.
