The Abuja Federal High Court has scheduled March 19 for the hearing of a new bail application from Nnamdi Kanu, leader of IPOB, detained on treasonable felony charges.
Justice Binta Nyako deferred the case to March 20 after arguments from Kanu’s counsel citing health concerns and objections to the charge’s competence.
The defense highlights Kanu’s cardiac problem and requests bail on “most liberal terms.” The prosecution opposes, emphasizing the misuse of the judicial process and asserting the DSS’s careful treatment of Kanu. The court, recalling Kanu’s previous bail breach, faces complexities in a case ongoing since 2015.
