Netflix has decided to permanently end its association with Apple’s App Store billing system, impacting Basic plan subscribers in specific countries, such as the United States and Canada.
While new subscribers couldn’t use App Store billing since 2018, existing subscribers paying through Apple were allowed to continue.
However, Netflix is now notifying these subscribers to update their payment method directly on its support website.
This change marks Netflix’s complete departure from the App Store billing system, freeing itself from paying a percentage of revenue to Apple.
Though the affected countries aren’t explicitly mentioned, the change is reflected on Netflix’s United States support website.
