Federal agents conducted raids on Monday at the residences of rap icon Sean “Diddy” Combs in Miami and Los Angeles.
According to reports, Homeland Security Investigations agents conducted the raid at Combs’ residence in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles and also at his Miami home on Star Island.
The raids followed a lawsuit that accused Combs of leading a criminal enterprise that might qualify as a “widespread and dangerous criminal sex trafficking organization.”
In a statement, Homeland Security Investigations mentioned ongoing investigations but did not specify the targets.
Video footage showed officers entering a property linked to Combs’ company, Bad Boy Entertainment, in Los Angeles, where two of Combs’ sons were reportedly detained.
Combs’ attorney, Shawn Holley, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Footage from Miami depicted multiple Homeland Security Investigations agents at Combs’ Star Island residence.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Manhattan declined to provide any comment.
The lawsuit, filed by Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones Jr. last month, named Combs, his chief of staff Kristina Khorram, his son Justin Combs, Universal Music Group CEO Sir Lucian Grainge, and former Motown Records CEO Ethiopia Habtemariam as defendants. Jones sought $30 million in damages.
Jones alleged that Combs, his staff, and music executives were aware of and involved in illicit and unwanted sexual activities in Florida, New York, California, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
