The Anambra State Police have confirmed the recovery of three additional bodies from the tragic boat accident that occurred on Wednesday.
Among those who drowned was Nollywood star Junior Pope Odonwodo, along with four others, while returning from a movie shoot on the Anam River.
According to Anambra State Police Command spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga, the remaining three bodies were recovered recently and have been deposited at a morgue in Asaba, Delta State.
Two bodies were retrieved on April 11, 2024, and the third was found this morning, brought in by the tide.
The Actors Guild of Nigeria has been informed of the developments.
The incident has sparked outrage among Nigerians, especially Nollywood enthusiasts, who believe that proper safety measures could have prevented these tragic deaths.
