A female Amazon delivery driver was sexually assaulted and robbed during an early morning delivery at a Nashville apartment building on April 26.
The perpetrator, Carl Hamilton, allegedly attacked her in the mailroom, forced her to withdraw money from an ATM, and then drove her around for about an hour before leaving her and her vehicle. Surveillance footage of the assault led to Hamilton’s arrest at the scene by responding officers.
Hamilton, a repeat offender with a history of over 100 offenses since 2007, including a previous conviction for kidnapping and robbery, now faces charges of aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping, and robbery related to this incident.
Amazon has expressed deep concern over the incident and is providing support to the victim and assisting the police in their investigation.
