“The CW Network is reassessing its association with both pageants in light of recent events,” the network informed NPR in a statement released on Tuesday.
Miss USA acknowledged the controversy in its announcement of Gankiewicz last week, amidst mounting criticism both within and outside of the organization.
The statement emphasized the individual experiences of those involved in high-profile events, stating, “It’s important to remember that every individual connected to such high-profile events is navigating their own personal journey.”
“We are dedicated to cultivating a supportive and communicative environment for all contestants, state titleholders, national titleholders, and staff within the Miss USA organization. This is our mission,” the statement continued. “We urge for the restoration of community, empathy, and kindness.”
