Netflix will soon stop working on a number of top-brand TV models, affecting certain Sony TVs in particular.
The company is ending support for these older television models, meaning users won’t be able to watch Netflix even if they have a subscription.
Starting July 24, 2024, the Netflix app will no longer be supported on some 2014 BRAVIA televisions.
Users can continue to use the Netflix app on these models until July 23, 2024.

But there’s an option available if you’re concerned about losing Netflix. Sony clarifies: “You can still watch Netflix on the Affected Models by using a compatible streaming device.”
This means you’ll have to set up a connected streaming device such as an Amazon Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Roku TV Stick, or Google Chromecast.
Netflix has previously been removed from Sony TVs on multiple occasions.
In late 2023, Netflix announced that many TVs manufactured in 2012 and 2013 would no longer support the app.
Access to Netflix was discontinued in February 2024.

Certain Sony Bravia models from 2014 are being discontinued – following the removal of access for 2012 and 2013 TVs to Netflix months earlier, according to Alamy.
If you own one of these TV models, you have already lost Netflix access.
However, similar to the recent shutdown, you can use plug-in streaming devices to restore access.
Streaming sticks bypass your TV’s software, offering access to a different range of apps and services.
By purchasing a newer streaming stick, you’ll continue to receive updates and support from Netflix for an extended period.
This provides a straightforward and cost-effective method to upgrade your TV without having to buy a new (and likely expensive) model.
