Nigerian hip-hop star Olamide recently announced his upcoming project ‘Ikigai’.
After a surprise performance at Davido and Chioma’s wedding on June 26, 2024, Olamide took to social media to share the news.
‘Ikigai’, a 7-track EP, features YBNL artists Fireboy and Asake on track 3, ‘Uptown Disco’, and reunites with former YBNL colleagues Pheelz, Young Jonn, and Lil Kesh on track 7, ‘Synchro System’, with a guest appearance by Sabri on track 4.
Before the official announcement, Olamide teased a snippet of ‘Hello Habibi’ on Instagram, now revealed as track 5 on the EP.
This surprise release is particularly significant given Olamide’s previous hint on X (formerly Twitter) in 2023 that his last album, ‘Unruly’, might be his final project.
Known for consistent hits like ‘Trumpet’ featuring CKay, ‘New Religion’ with Asake, and ‘Jinja’, Olamide’s fans, known as the YBNL Mafias, eagerly await the release of ‘Ikigai’ and are excited about the YBNL reunions it promises.
