Rapper and entrepreneur 50 Cent reacted to the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump by sharing a meme. The meme featured Trump’s face superimposed on the cover of 50 Cent’s iconic album “Get Rich or Die Tryin’.” The incident occurred during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where Thomas Crooks, the suspected gunman, opened fire, resulting in one death and two injuries. Trump sustained a minor injury to his right ear and was swiftly evacuated by the Secret Service. Crooks was killed after the attack.
Following the incident, 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, posted on social media, humorously noting his own surge in online attention. The viral meme captured Trump raising his fist, reminiscent of a scene from the rally set to 50 Cent’s song “Many Men.” This track, known for its lyrics reflecting personal challenges and survival, resonated with the rapper’s own history of surviving a shooting in 2000.
Earlier in June, 50 Cent and civil rights attorney Ben Crump had appeared together in Washington, D.C., advocating for increased opportunities in the liquor industry. Speaking to CBS News, 50 Cent mentioned that he had not yet decided on his preferred candidate for the upcoming election but acknowledged that some Black men were finding aspects to identify with in Trump.
