Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is celebrating after winning a $1 billion lawsuit filed by former drug dealer Cory Ghost Holland Sr., who had accused the rapper-turned-TV mogul of using his life story for the hit series “Power.”
Judge Analisa Torres recently dismissed the lawsuit, ruling in favor of 50 Cent and his team, finding that the show did not reference Holland’s life.
Holland had claimed in 2021 that the series was based on his experiences, which he had shared through a CD sent to the show’s creators for help in escaping his criminal past.
Holland also sued 50 Cent for harassment, alleging intimidation by the rapper’s associates, and took legal action against Lionsgate and Starz for not protecting him from these threats.
In his typical fashion, 50 Cent responded to the victory with humor, posting a screenshot of the news with a playful caption: “Fool thought he was Ghost 😆 da fvck wrong wit these 🥷’s man 🤨 LOL.”
