Austrian billionaire Richard Lugner, known for hiring celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Pamela Anderson, and Ivanka Trump to attend high-profile events with him, passed away on Monday at 91.
Lugner, who had recently married his sixth wife, Simone Reiländer, just two months ago, died at his Vienna villa. Emergency services responded to the scene but were unable to revive him.
Lugner and Reiländer, who had a 49-year age difference, were married in June at Vienna City Hall, with 50 guests and 30 media representatives in attendance. After the wedding, Reiländer hinted to local media about their intimate life, mentioning a “very long wedding night.”
Following their marriage, Lugner was hospitalized due to severe back pain, which he attributed to his exercise bike. He received daily pain relief injections from a specialist. His health worsened on July 12 when he was taken to Vienna General Hospital after suffering a ruptured heart valve.
Lugner had already made preparations for his funeral, including ordering his tombstone, stating that he wanted everything organized for his heirs. He had also recently announced that Reiländer had taken full control of his business operations, referring to her as the “sole boss” of his empire.
Lugner is survived by his four children from previous relationships: Alexander, Andreas, Nadin, and Jacqueline.
