On Saturday, singer Celine Dion criticized former President Donald Trump’s campaign for using her song “My Heart Will Go On” without permission at a recent rally.
Dion and her management team only recently discovered the song’s use, notably at Trump’s rally in Bozeman, Montana.
Dion’s statement, shared on her X and Instagram accounts, condemned the unauthorized use of her music and clarified that she does not support or endorse it. She also expressed surprise at the song choice.
“My Heart Will Go On,” known for its role in the movie ‘Titanic’, is one of the best-selling singles ever.
Other musicians, including Rihanna and the Rolling Stones, have previously objected to Trump’s use of their music in his campaigns.
Last month, Dion made headlines for her performance of Edith Piaf’s “L’Hymne à l’amour” at the Olympics opening ceremony, marking her first concert since revealing her battle with stiff person syndrome.
