Nigerian musical star Divine Ikubor, known as Rema, has contributed N150 million to Christ Embassy Church in Benin City, Edo State.
According to reports, Rema was in Edo for the Edo@33 celebrations, which included a groundbreaking event for the 6,000-capacity Edo Dome and a concert at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, hosted by the state government.
Rema made the donation to the church’s Edo Regional Headquarters, located on Erediauwa Street, to express gratitude for the church’s support during his childhood. He highlighted the church’s significant role after his father’s death when he was eight years old.
In his speech during a thanksgiving service at the church, Rema shared how Pastor Joy and Pastor Thomas helped his family by opening a shop for his mother, which was crucial for their survival.
As a gesture of thanks, he announced a N150 million donation, with N40 million earmarked for church infrastructure, N20 million for the Rhapsody of Realities publication, and N25 million for the teen church.
Additionally, he pledged N20 million to support widows attending the service.
