A 16-year-old student reportedly shot and killed a 15-year-old boy during a confrontation in the boys’ bathroom at Joppatowne High School in Joppa, Maryland, on Friday, according to authorities.
The victim, Warren Curtis Grant, was taken out of the bathroom by other students and then assisted by school nurses and the principal, as stated by Harford County Sheriff Jeff Gahler.
He was airlifted to a trauma center but passed away shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The 16-year-old suspect, whose name has not been released, fled the school and ran to nearby residences but was quickly apprehended with the help of local residents.
This incident occurred on the suspect’s first day at the school, although the school year has been ongoing for four days.
Only one shot was reportedly fired, and the firearm has not yet been found.
The motive behind the argument remains unknown.
