Cardi B and Offset are being sued over the use of a luxury mansion in Beverly Hills for Cardi’s music video “Like What,” which Offset directed.
The lawsuit, filed by the property’s owner, alleges that the couple misled them into believing the shoot was for a TikTok video rather than a full music video, thereby avoiding the standard rental fees.
The homeowner claims they allowed the use of the mansion for free under the impression it was for a short TikTok clip.
They argue that had they known it was for a high-profile music video—now with over 27 million YouTube views—they would have charged the appropriate fees. The owner is now seeking damages exceeding $35,000.
The mansion, previously rented by Justin Bieber and featured in a Logan Paul video, is central to the “Like What” video. The lawsuit accuses Cardi B and Offset of profiting from the mansion’s use without proper payment.
In response, Cardi B has denied the claims, stating on social media that she paid $10,000 in cash for a full day’s use and additional fees for any extra time.
She asserts that the property owner and realtors were aware the shoot was for a music video.
Cardi B responded on Twitter, “We paid those people $10,000 IN CASH to rent the property for a whole 24 hours… Now they wanna finesse us trying to say we told them it was a TikTok video… IRON YOUR BEST SUIT BITCH I’ll see you in court!!!!”
This lawsuit adds to the couple’s challenges, as they recently had their third child and are navigating ongoing divorce proceedings.
Despite the legal issues, Cardi B is determined to clear her name in court.
