MrBeast, also known as Jimmy Donaldson, is facing a lawsuit filed by five anonymous contestants from his new Amazon reality show, accusing him of creating “unsafe” work conditions, including sexual harassment.
The lawsuit also claims the odds of winning the $5 million prize were misrepresented.
The contestants allege that the production company behind MrBeast’s YouTube channel did not provide minimum wages, overtime pay, proper meal breaks, or rest periods. They argue that since their participation was the entertainment product, they were entitled to these benefits.
MrBeast’s “Beast Games,” promoted as the “biggest reality competition,” initially involved 2,000 participants.
The lawsuit claims contestants were misled about their chances of winning, as the actual number of competitors far exceeded expectations, violating California laws against misrepresenting sweepstakes odds.
Additionally, the filing accuses the production of failing to provide adequate food, medical care, and creating a hostile environment for women due to alleged sexual harassment.
The lawsuit also claims MrBeast’s team falsely classified contestants’ employment status to obtain tax credits.
The plaintiffs are seeking compensation for unpaid wages and workplace reforms.
MrBeast’s spokesperson has not commented on the lawsuit, and there is no release date for the show.
