Shaboozey won the New Artist of 2024 award at the People’s Choice Country Awards on Thursday. During his acceptance speech, he expressed gratitude to Beyoncé, among others, and concluded by thanking his label, Empire, calling it “the best independent label partner any artist could ask for,” and adding, “Thank you, Beyoncé, you’re amazing.”
He shared with the audience that he had prepared a speech, starting by thanking “People’s Choice, the fans, and listeners” for the award. He expressed how honored and humbled he felt, saying he never imagined he would be accepting such an award at the Grand Ole Opry, calling it a “dream come true.”
Shaboozey also thanked Country Radio programmers for their support, as well as his management team, friends, and family in Nashville for their constant backing.
Shaboozey is featured on two tracks from Beyoncé’s latest album, “Cowboy Carter,” titled “Spaghetti” and “Sweet Honey Buckiin’.”
Beyoncé was nominated for eight awards at the event, including Song of the Year, Album of 2024, and Female Artist of 2024, among others. However, her album “Cowboy Carter” was completely overlooked at the Country Music Awards when nominations were announced on September 18. The most-nominated artist for the 2024 CMA Awards is Morgan Wallen, who is up for major awards like Entertainer of the Year and Song of the Year.
