In the latest heavyweight rankings from Ring Magazine, Anthony Joshua has fallen to 7th place following his significant defeat to Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium on September 21.
Previously ranked third, Joshua aimed to solidify his position as a top contender but was knocked down four times during the fight, leading to a crushing loss.
Consequently, Dubois has moved up to second place, surpassing Joshua. The rankings are led by Tyson Fury in first place and unified champion Oleksandr Usyk as the current Ring Magazine champion.
Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang hold the third and fourth spots, respectively, while Agit Kabayel and Martin Bakole are in fifth and sixth, all ranked ahead of Joshua. Both Parker and Zhang have recently secured victories over Deontay Wilder, enhancing their rankings, with Parker ranked higher due to his win over Zhang in December.
Kabayel climbed into the top ten after defeating Frank Sanchez, and Bakole impressed by defeating American prospect Jared Anderson. Joshua barely remains in the top ten, just ahead of Filip Hrgovic, Dubois’ other recent opponent, while Efe Ajagba and Justis Huni complete the list.
Joshua and Dubois are set for a rematch on December 21, with Dubois possibly in line to face the winner for the undisputed title, though a rematch with Joshua is also a viable option.
