Conor McGregor’s highly anticipated return to the UFC has been delayed as the combat sports icon revealed plans for a boxing exhibition with Logan Paul.
On Tuesday, McGregor dismissed rumors of a UFC matchup against featherweight champion Ilia Topuria, announcing instead that he is in “preliminary agreements” with India’s wealthy Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing match.
“I have agreed,” McGregor stated, confirming the exhibition plans. “I will then seek my return to the Octagon.”
This wouldn’t be the first high-profile bout for the Paul brothers, with Jake Paul recently defeating Mike Tyson in a landmark boxing match and Logan famously facing Floyd Mayweather in 2021.
McGregor, known for his UFC dominance, also stepped into the boxing world in 2017 against Mayweather, earning a reported $130 million despite the TKO loss.
Logan, a former WWE United States Champion, has yet to comment on McGregor’s announcement as he focuses on his newborn daughter, Esmé, with fiancée Nina Agdal.
Meanwhile, the Ambani family, renowned for their lavish spending, has previously hosted performances by Rihanna and Justin Bieber for private events, showing no hesitation in funding high-profile ventures.
