The CMT Music Awards may not take place at Austin’s Moody Center this year.
According to reports. Paramount Global is putting some 2025 events on hold, including the CMT Music Awards, as part of its ongoing merger with Skydance Media. An internal memo announcing the decision did not specify when final decisions on the affected events would be made.
“As we look to reimagine and optimize our events slate moving forward, we are pausing a few events for 2025. These include the MTV EMAs, MTV MIAWs, Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in Mexico, and CMT Music Awards,” the memo stated.
The CMT Music Awards relocated from Nashville to Austin in 2023 and were held there again in 2024.
