A lawsuit accusing JAY-Z of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000 has been dismissed in court. The case, filed by Tony Buzbee in December 2024, which also implicated Diddy in sexual assault, was “voluntarily dismissed with prejudice” on February 14, 2025. This means the case cannot be refiled in its original form. All parties involved agreed to the dismissal, but Buzbee has not yet commented on the decision.
In contrast, JAY-Z and Roc Nation issued statements celebrating the ruling as a victory, with JAY-Z detailing the severe emotional toll the lawsuit had on him and his family, which included death threats.
JAY-Z criticized the allegations as “frivolous” and “fictitious,” calling the experience traumatic for his family and emphasizing the need for the justice system to protect both victims and the innocent. He also expressed frustration that the case had been filed under false pretenses, with no evidence to support the claims. JAY-Z’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, praised his client for standing firm and clearing his name.
In response, JAY-Z filed a defamation lawsuit against Tony Buzbee, accusing him of civil extortion and causing emotional distress. Meanwhile, Diddy is still dealing with multiple lawsuits related to sexual assault and trafficking, and he is awaiting trial, which is set for May 2025.
