A U.K. judge has ordered Chris Brown to remain in police custody following his arrest earlier this week. The 36-year-old singer faces charges of grievous bodily harm after allegedly assaulting music producer Abe Diaw with a tequila bottle at London’s Tape nightclub in February 2023. Diaw claims Brown struck him multiple times with the bottle, then continued to punch and kick him once he collapsed.
Prosecutors described the incident as an “unprovoked attack” during Brown’s appearance at Manchester Magistrates’ Court. The arrest took place Thursday at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester. Judge Joanne Hirst denied bail, ordering Brown held until his next hearing on June 13.
Despite the legal proceedings, no changes have been announced to Brown’s “Breezy Bowl XX Stadium World Tour,” which is scheduled to begin in the Netherlands on June 8, with U.S. dates starting July 30 in Miami.
