Sean “Diddy” Combs is preparing to take the stand in his upcoming trial. The music mogul, currently in federal custody after a judge denied his $50 million bail request, is eager to testify, according to his attorney Marc Agnifilo.
In a preview clip from the TMZ documentary The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment, Agnifilo mentioned that Combs is determined to share his side of the story.
Combs, who has pleaded not guilty to charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution, is expected to address the 2016 security footage showing him allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hotel. The footage was released by CNN in May.
Cassie, who dated Combs from 2007 to 2018, filed a lawsuit in November 2023 accusing him of rape and abuse, referencing an incident that matches the hotel footage. The lawsuit was settled just one day after it was filed, though Combs denied the allegations.
Agnifilo emphasized that Combs has a unique perspective on his story, describing it as one of love, pain, and heartbreak.
The attorney noted that Combs often refers to the relationship with Cassie as a source of deep heartbreak for both parties.
The trial date is yet to be scheduled, with a status hearing set for October 9.
