Thalia Graves, who is suing Diddy for alleged rape, reportedly offered her ex-boyfriend $3 million to support her claims against the Bad Boy Records founder.
Graves accuses Diddy and his former bodyguard, Joseph Sherman, of an incident that she says took place in 2001 while she was in a relationship with one of Diddy’s employees.
According to TMZ, Graves sent her ex-boyfriend texts in November 2023 stating her intention to sue Diddy because “he’s the one that has the money.” She allegedly asked him to back her story by claiming he had seen a video of the incident, even messaging him, “What do you need $3 mil for?” The ex-boyfriend confirmed the messages to TMZ and interpreted them as an attempt at bribery, prompting him to block her number and social media.
Diddy’s legal team reportedly has access to these text messages.
In response to this revelation, Graves’ attorney stated that it is common for wealthy and influential individuals to discredit those who come forward with accusations. The attorney emphasized that Graves looks forward to her day in court.
Following the public announcement of the lawsuit last month, Sherman denied Graves’ allegations in an emotional NBC New York interview, asserting, “It’s a lie on me. I don’t know this lady from anywhere.” He expressed skepticism about her claims and insisted he was not in the same location as her during the alleged incident.
Sherman suggested that Graves and others were attempting to orchestrate a financial scheme against Diddy, noting that although he worked for Diddy and Bad Boy Records in the 1990s, he was no longer employed there at the time of the alleged rape.
