A new Hulu documentary, The Honorable Shyne, features shocking revelations from Gene Deal, a man who claims to have been Diddy’s bodyguard during the 1999 New York nightclub shooting case, which also involved Jennifer Lopez. One of the most startling claims made by Deal is that Diddy allegedly performed an animal sacrifice just hours before the verdict was delivered, which ultimately resulted in Diddy being acquitted.
Deal, who was a former bodyguard and aspiring urban artist at the time, recounts how Diddy, on his way to court to hear the verdict, instructed his driver to stop in Central Park. Diddy then met with a man holding a Bible, knelt down, and participated in a ritual that involved burning something—likely sage—surrounding him with smoke. The man prayed, touched Diddy, and instructed him to release a white bird from a cage. Diddy reportedly threw the bird into the air and then slammed it to the ground. After the ritual ended, Diddy went on to be cleared of charges related to attempted bribery and illegal weapons possession, which could have resulted in a 15-year prison sentence.
Meanwhile, Shyne, who was the only one convicted in the case, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for assault, reckless endangerment, and illegal firearm possession.
In the documentary, Shyne accuses Diddy of orchestrating the entire situation and making him take the fall as part of a “demonic” plan.
