According to Vanguard reports, three individuals suspected of killing 17 officers and men of the 181 Amphibious Battalion, Nigerian Army, in Otuama, Delta State, last Thursday, have been apprehended.
The suspects were captured in Port Harcourt and transferred to Army headquarters in Asaba for custody.
Meanwhile, the military deployed swamp buggies to the besieged Okuama community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State as part of the ongoing operation to dismantle the community.
These heavy vehicles were transported on barges through waterways, observed by residents of neighboring communities.
Additionally, the chairman of Akugbene community in Bomadi Local Government Area was released from military detention, along with others, after producing alleged perpetrators under the community’s custody.
The security situation remains tense in Bomadi, with armored vehicles and uniformed personnel strategically stationed in the town.
