Beyoncé has been named Billboard’s Greatest Pop Star of the 21st Century, surpassing top artists like Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and others.
The announcement, made on Tuesday, highlights the 43-year-old’s remarkable 25-year career, including 12 No. 1 hits on the Hot 100 and being the most-awarded artist in Grammy history.
Billboard praised Beyoncé’s long-standing dominance in music, with writer Andrew Unterberger noting that no one else has such an extensive track record in the 21st century.
While Taylor Swift remains the top pop star by the numbers, Beyoncé claimed the editorial title due to her influence, impact, and continuous evolution over the years.
Beyoncé’s win placed her ahead of Rihanna (No. 3), Drake (No. 4), and Lady Gaga (No. 5).
This recognition follows another successful year for the singer, which included the release of her highly praised country album Cowboy Carter.
